Description
One of the first assessments that a teacher has to make is the assessment of their students' prior knowledge. This resource provides a variety of methods to determining students' prior knowledge. Some of these methods include asking students to create mind map, a list of key words, interview each other, point out myths, or debate the concept itself. Once an assessment has been made, a teacher is free to build upon this knowledge. These strategies are applicable to all grades and content areas.
