The researchers found that nearly 12 percent of the people living in the diabetes belt — counties in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia, as well as the state of Mississippi — have diabetes. That's compared with a national average of 8.5 percent, according to an article on MyHealthNewsDaily. Yep-Texas made the list.
